Subscription Terms and Conditions

As we are a small artist lead team we hope these plain language Terms of Agreement are understandable and fair for all:

SUBSCRIPTIONS:

If you subscribe more then 30 days from the launch of a new issue, you will receive the LAST issue produced, provided there is sufficient inventory.

If we have already sold out of the present season, you will receive a copy of the next issue as soon as it is ready to ship. In either case, as NOTES is only released twice a year, annual subscribers should only receive two copies.

REFUNDS and CANCELLATIONS:

We will happily refund you the cost of the magazine and shipping of for any issues not shipped to you.

Privacy Policy

In short, we respect your privacy. Because privacy is important to all of us, we put together the following so you can understand how we collect, communicate, disclose and make use of any personal information you might provide.  

What information do we collect and what is it used for?

Information you provide directly to us:

During the purchase process, we will collect personal data from you (which may include your name, email address, phone number etc.) which is securely stored on the services we use to process these transactions. Our store operates under the e-commerce platform Plasso and their privacy policy can be found here. Behind the scenes, all payments are securely processed by the online payment processor Stripe, whose privacy policy can be found here. If during a purchase you opt-into subscribing to our email list, sign up for our list on our website, or add your name to our subscriber list during one of our events, NOTES we will keep you abreast of any news and events related to our activities. We will protect your personal information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. Under no circumstances will your information be sold to any 3rd party. You may also unsubscribe at any time from our email list, by following the unsubscribe link in any of our marketing.

Information we collect through technology:

Do we use cookies?? Yup! Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow them). Cookies enable the site or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember small amounts of information. This cookie information is used as a utility to websites so that they can remember that you logged in to make a comment, or keep track of items in a shopping cart etc. Some of the services we link to, including Facebook, twitter, youtube and others also use cookies. Plasso.com - Note-Journal.com uses Plasso to operate our online store. Plasso uses cookies to save your shopping cart details and other transactional information which allows it to function. https://plasso.com/privacy

Stripe.com - As previously mentioned Notes-Journal.com uses Plasso.com for our online storefront. Plasso in turn securely processes any payments through Stripe.com, which uses cookies in its opperations for authentication, fraud detection and other functions. https://stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

As stated above, we do not sell or trade to 3rd parties your personally identifiable information without your consent. We do, however, share your information with the aforementioned services who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties also agree to also keep this information confidential. Examples include opting into our email list or purchasing or attempting to purchase an item in our online store. In these situations, we would need to share your information with our partners to complete these transactions (Plasso for e-commerce, Stripe for online payment processing). Additionally, where applicable, visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.

How long we retain your data:   If you leave a comment, the comment and its

metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

When you make a purchase through our online store, we will maintain your Order Information for our records securely via our 3rd party partners Plasso and Stripe,  for accounting purposes. After the completion of your subscription or after your order is fulfilled you may ask to have this information removed from our partner systems.

You may delete your personal information from our mailing lists at any time by following the unsubscribe links in any of our emails.

What rights you have over your data:  

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website and in our correspondence. Examples include links to the work of artists we promote and of our advertisers. As these third party sites will have separate and independent privacy policies and so we, therefore, can have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about any of the services and sites we connect to.

Embedded content from other websites:  

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect their own data about you, and use cookies not listed above, including embed additional third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Do Not Track:

Please note that this website is not savvy enough to alter it’s behaviour when it sees a Do Not Track signal from your browser, and so it does not alter our Site’s data collection.
